I finally got my blackberry 7250 upgraded to evdo on Bell's network. It's fast, cool and I'm teathered to my laptop right now which brings out the serious convenience of this whole thing. Next step, find one of those Asus routers which run OpenWRT and have USB ports so that I can connect my laptop to the car via WiFi and then connect to the EVDO network via the blackberry. The ping times are low enough that I may even be able to use it for voip phone calls, that's probably hoping for too much.
Gotta hit the gym, then drive around a bit more to see what the coverage is actually like in my day-to-day.
Upgrade Instructions... I went to Square One where they were extremely helpful. I was the first BB upgrade too. Bell World at Heartland proved useless and I still haven't got my call from those other wait lists I put myself on, we'll see if those ever show up.

What crap! I just drove down to the farm where we used to live because Brianne's working at the end of that street. From there, I have near-perfect EVDO signal and I could have had high-speed internet access from there if this had existed then... Grr. |

Hey! I'm getting a Blackberry too... with a Bluetooth headset. Thank you Huron College. The senior team for the residences are getting them so that we can stay in tough like we need to! I'm pretty excited about it... and supposedly the whole highspeed thinger is right at the hospital too! (just up the street) Hooray! |

I typed this whole brilliant article about Bell upgrading blackberry 7250s as of yesterday, then I visited Bell's site to find out how much the new tethering plan is going to cost (because they're jackin' up the rates) and then their site crashed firefox. Such crap. Just like braking in bad weather, save early and often. |

I just got my stats engine up and running again. Apparently it hasn't been processing pages since Decemeber and no one notice until last week. So, all week long I've been babysitting it while it processes page after page. Once it finally got caught up, I started looking through the matches to figure out how people end up here. Quite a few people search for goblogyourself.com which is an alias to this site. Eventually, I'd like to set up some kind of place where you can go blog yourself, but for now, it just points to here. I'm happy to report, that this page is the number one match for dead taste bud when you're searching from Canada and also number one for epileptical machine worldwide. Now there's something to be proud of.
Had a nice little Wednesday today. Got up early, took out the trash, made breakfast and then got down to work. Then took off for a nice lunch that Brianne made for me and then went out with the dog for some exercise and some sun. Brianne's at the barn riding around and I'm at Tom's waiting for him to get here while I drink his beer. |

Check this out, at www.infotecbusinesssystems.com/wildlife/ you can watch a live camera feed of an eagle's nest. There are two eggs in the nest right now and one's due to hatch tomorrow and the other on April 30th. The camera quality is really good and there's sound too! |

Extremely productive weekend this weekend. On Saturday we pulled down the shed in Tom's backyard. It went quite well. Swinging the sledge around all day is quite the workout. My arms still ache a little bit today. I'll post the video later. I don't know many people who have more than one video of a shed being pulled down by a vechicle.
Yesterday I finally proof-read our taxes and then paper-clipped them up so that we can send them off and get our refund. I would have had everything done already except that we were missing a T5 and we can't file online this year because we're changing our address and adding direct deposit information. It's pretty ridiculous that you can't do that all online or over the phone. Just because it's printed out doesn't make it any more official.
Then in the afternoon, I fiddled with our shower. I figured out what was happening that made us have powerless showers. The spout with shower diverter is supposed to be one peice, but the plastic part inside ours had become seperate from the metal part which looks shiny. I think it's a Moen too, so maybe you don't buy those for life. Anyway, $25 later we have a diverter which works and now the shower is amazing. It's like standing in a wall of water. I think I'm going to start hanging out in there until the novelty wears off. |

Google Calendars should have Google Talk be an event-reminder option. I have Google Talk in my Gmail, on my desktop and on my Blackberry, so it makes sense. Off to dinner! Have a happy Easter! |

The blackberry makes a terrible alarm clock, said the guy who was supposed to be up at 7am.

I felt the urge, so I checked the Bell Business on the Go site for the 7250. Sure enough the Voyageur software has been updated to include the Blackberry 7250 which has become close to our hearts. I couldn't get it to connect to Bell's network though, so I dunno what's up with that.
I talked to some sales people last week and the stores have to upgrade your PRL Version. You can check what yours is by calling #HELP* Unfortunately the certain Bell World stores that are getting the upgrade, don't have it yet. So, I'm on the calling list. If I don't get a call by next week, I'll have to call them.
Brianne's first day at the new job today. I'm pretty happy about it. It means I get in to work before everyone else and I can get something done before people start to break their computers and need me to fix it.

Just called Data support and the Voyageur software only works with EVDO blackberries, so even though mine shows up, it won't work until I'm eeve to the doughing. |
